capri, the amalfi coast

Just a short boat-ride away from Sorrento, Positano and Naples is the island of Capri.
It's absolute postcard perfection.
The boat will bring you into the small harbour, but the main town is on top of the hill. Which can only mean one thing... an uphill hike. Up and up and up and up you go, until you arrive at a Funicular station.
Bitter from the knowledge that we could've caught the train and saved our poor legs, we consoled ourselves with an orange from a nearby tree. Do we know how to have fun or what?
Hiking aside, you really need to get to the top one way or another. Look at the view...
Blue blue sky, blue blue sea.
Now jump in a boat. Any boat will do. We're off to see Capri by sea.

The Scugnizzo or welcoming statue. Give him an air high-five!

The Coral Grotto
The White Grotto
The Green Grotto
Think Capri. This is the picture that will usually come to mind. The Faraglioni.
Our boat driver skipper (my dad will kill me for that) decided to take us through the rock. Either Stella, Mezzo or Fuori, I can't remember which. Naming rocks seems all a bit excessive.
Classic back shot
Now if you've seen enough photos of rocks and stuff we'll head back to shore for some boat watching & grape popping.
Then we headed back to Sorrento to catch up with Naomi who's been living in Pompeii for the year. But a catch up without cocktails and a view of Mount Vesuvius is nothing to shout about. And Naomi's Pina Colada was shout-from-the-rooftops good.
Mount Vesuvius
Then it was time to hike (ahem, catch a bus) 8km up a hill for our last night on the farm in the clouds...
